The Syracuse/Onondaga club of the Working Families Party is pleased to announce its slate of endorsements for the 2021 elections. With the growth of the party statewide and the increased national attention on progressive policies, we believe that the moment is right to fight for a progressive agenda locally. This includes the Invest in Our New York Act, which has the potential to dramatically shift the financial burdens placed on working families during this pandemic. Additionally, we believe that refunding our communities by defunding our police department is a necessary step to protecting marginalized members of our community while investing in our community’s future.

Now that the Working Families Party has grown in strength, a record number of candidates sought our endorsement this year. We are thankful to every candidate who participated in completing our lengthy questionnaire and interview process. These endorsements were taken seriously by local club members, party affiliates, and state officers. The candidates below were chosen because we think they represent Working Families Party values.

In some races we chose not to endorse a candidate or candidates. This year we want to focus our efforts on WFP champions who have demonstrated a commitment to practicing our values and who will work with us to build the party here in Central New York.

With these endorsements, we are looking forward to working with these candidates to improve our community here in Syracuse and Onondaga County, and build electorally around a strong progressive agenda.
